Jean-Baptiste Colbert, who was a minister during the reign of Louis the 14th, was born in Reims in 1619. His relatives were drapers. In honour of Colbert, the City of Reims raised a statue which has been seen in the square at the hands of the trainstation.
A street, an academy, a barracks, a club, a haven and even a business park have taken his name.
